The national park covers 112,000 ha and is protecting 14 different ecosystems in the Desert Uplands bioregion. This makes it one of inland Queensland’s most botanically diverse parks. Brilliant wildflowers and a host of animals are found throughout the park.
This vast arid landscape comes to life in winter, blooming with colourful displays of wildflowers. Water flows through the park from the headwaters of three major catchments which eventually makes it way through channel country to Lake Eyre.
